In memory of Beverly Highland
We honor Ms. Beverly Y. Highland, who was born in the Moore County town of Pinehurst, North Carolina on November 14, 1944. In her own words: "As a mature adult I have retired twice - but - find myself searching for knowledge, and ways to have an impact in my community." Beverly, a devout Christian, had interests in poetry, writing and an insatiable love for history and reading. However, Diabetes awareness was her passion. As a fierce advocate for healthy living, she designed "Quilting Diabetes," a project she created and implemented as a Community Health Advocate. Well done.
